At first, I did not believe that being prudent in life would be important because the Nike slogan ‘just do it’ is deeply entrenched in me. Due to this belief, I always did things impulsively. One day at my friend’s party, we had a few drinks, and when the alcohol started to kick in, I felt light and carefree. After a few minutes, my friend offered me a drug which is called ecstasy. Without thinking, I consumed it, and I started to get really high. When I wanted to go out to smoke, I accidentally bumped into a guy. The guy gave me a disdainful look, and I impulsively punched and kicked him until he was bloody and unconscious. Before long, the police arrived and apprehended me, and unknowingly, I was imprisoned. Although prison is bleak and miserable, it gives me a lot of time to reflect, and that was when I resigned myself to the fact that poor decisions are attributed to impulsivity.
